The Importance of Our Clients and Employees
January 1, 2019
When it comes to Dorchester Awnings, one of the best awning companies out there, we take great care in trying to make it not only the greatest for our customers, but also the greatest for our employees. According to Andrea Lampson, the Executive Vice President of Dorchester Awnings, said, “If we didn’t have our employees, we wouldn’t have a company.” This just goes to show how much we value our employees. After all, we wouldn’t be anywhere near where we are right now if we didn’t have outstanding workers.
From Zero to Thriving
Dorchester Awnings started out as a struggling business and through the efforts of our employees and corporate, the business turned into a thriving enterprise. Not only do we have clients all across the United States, but we’ve expanded and broadened our client base by pursuing national wholesale accounts.
Giving Back to Employees
No business becomes one of the greatest awing companies without incredible employees, which is why we think it’s so important to give back to our employees. According to Mark Lampson, “One of the biggest challenges of any small business is HR-related, keeping people happy and productive and that means more than just their pay and the occasional bonus. It’s about being a team and helping each other and in turn, ourselves.”
It’s important to put rewards in place in a business that is apart from an employee’s benefit package, such as yearly and additional bonuses. For example, Andrea and Mark like to stock their company’s fridge with beverages. “It’s the teamwork across all areas of expertise that make for the successes,” Andrea said. “We can’t thank them enough.”
Putting Customers First
The other side of the coin apart from the employees is paying attention to the customers’ needs. In the end, it’s all about the customers and fulfilling their needs to beautify their business or residential area. On a rare occasion when a customer is unsatisfied with installation, Andrea works with them to satisfy their needs. It’s important to pay attention to the overall style the customer is going for, the specifications they ask for, and even how affordable an installation might be for their pockets. An important business decision was to offer financing terms and payment plans to match a customer’s cash flow so that installing an awning can be affordable for every type of budget.
