Retractable Roofs
Retractable roofs are a great way to add personality to houses or buildings. These roof systems are designed to roll back along a set of tracks using automatic controls. This helps homes and buildings to be selectively exposed to the elements. A common use of retractable roofs on a larger scale is in stadiums or other public venues. When the weather is more agreeable, retractable roofs can be opened for a more outdoors and open air feel. When night falls or the weather becomes less desirable, retractable roofs can be closed to protect the inhabitants and items underneath.
Retractable roofs are also commonly seen in restaurants, bars, and public swimming centers. Many individuals also have retractable roofs in their homes, such as surrounding a patio or lounge area. Retractable roofs are a wonderful convenience, offering individuals an opportunity to invite a beautiful day at the push of a button.
What is a Pergola?
A pergola is also referred to as an arbor. A pergola is essentially a type of gazebo that may also act as a building extension, protect an open terrace, or link different pavilions. It’s a garden feature that forms a shaded passageway, walkway, or area to sit. This area may be comprised of vertical pillars or posts which support cross-beams. In some cases, individuals may wish to have a more natural pergola that features trained woody vines that decorate a lattice formation created by the crossbeams.
In other scenarios, individuals and businesses may wish to have a retractable pergola. Retractable pergolas are similar in concept to retractable awnings, in that they are typically made of a softer fabric material. In contrast, retractable roofs are typically made from more durable materials, including metals like aluminum.
