Middleboro, MA – February 26, 2024 – The Loonat family today announces the acquisition of the awnings business of M&A Holdings, Inc. DBA The Dorchester Awning Company in an asset deal for an undisclosed amount.
Dorchester Awning Company is the leading awning and shade company in the Northeast. It started as a family-owned business in 1901, building Surrey tops for horse drawn buggies. Over the decades the company expanded into awnings, tents and other shade products and now include the design, manufacture and installation of:
Canopies, storefront awnings, and large venue awnings
Retractable awnings, pergola canopies and shade sails
Retractable fabric roof systems
Metal awnings
Side curtains and solar shades
Custom and special awning projects
Winter removal and storage
The Company is a fully integrated manufacturer of various types of awnings providing a one- stop solution to owners, contractors, builders, and property managers and serves both commercial and residential customers in the greater New England area.
The Company will continue its operations at its existing facility in Kingston, Massachusetts and retain its team of talented craftsman who make “Awnings of Distinction since 1901”.
