MIDDLEBORO, MA – August 4, 2026 – The Dorchester Awning Company LLC, New England’s premier provider of custom awnings and shade solutions for over 125 years, today announced its intention to separate its canopies business into an independent company – Dorchester Canopies LLC.
The spin-off is expected to enhance strategic focus, improve operational flexibility, and create long-term value for the customers, employees, and other stakeholders.
The planned spin-off will establish Dorchester Canopies (www.dorchestercanopies.com) as a separate business dedicated to marketing, sale and manufacturing of hanger-rod awning canopies, standing seam awnings, shutters, sail shades and other structural awnings while Dorchester Awnings will continue to focus on fabric based stationary and retractable awnings, pergolas and screens.
