AWNING STYLES Select an Awning Style That Fits Your Business, Your Personality, Your HomeTo simplify your search for the perfect awning, we provide this convenient reference page to show you the various styles as defined by the Professional Awning Manufacturers Association (PAMA). Since almost every awning is uniquely designed to fit a particular space and provide a certain look and feel - there are almost an infinite number of variations that can be constructed. Many awnings come with a valance (the lowest portion of the awning). The valance can come in a variety of styles and shapes as well, but there are three main themes: 1) Loose - flaps in the breeze, 2) Hard fixed valance with a metal framework to provide stiffness, and 3) none at all. On traditional residential window awnings you will typically see a loose scalloped valance. Many commercial applications use a fixed valance which provides a surface for graphics.
